Alfie Evans thread in Religion froum

Dear Jeff,
I wanted to discuss the case of Alfie Evans from a religious perspective that does not fit into Political forum. You locked the thread and directed us to join the thread in the Political forum. I would like to point out several things: 1. I am not interested in the politics of this case. Some other religious people are not interested in politics of it either. We want to discuss it form a religious point of view. 2. I am interested in religious aspects of this case because I think are at the root of this case. 3. Political forum features posters advocating for "terminating" all undesirable children (from DS to heart defect) in utero. That is for politics and my comments would not fit there. Therefore, I have no proper forum to discuss this case with religious people and from a religious perspective. Interestingly, threads such as "How to tell my child that there is no God" are allowed in Religion forum when they would much better fit in Parenting forum since they are not related to existence of any religion for the op. I would like to ask you to consider not locking threads/allow the same leniency for important topics such as Alfie Evans' case to be discussed in Religion forum. |

The first post is an advertisement for an event. Technically, I should have deleted it altogether because events should be posted on the Events Calendar.
Plus, I didn't really see any discussion of the "religious aspects" of the case beyond repeated invocations of "satan". I think the decision to the lock the thread was correct as the discussion is largely duplicative of the one in the Political Forum. |

| Actually, the discussion about Satan's involvement is actually something that religious people would like to discuss with regards to this case. Such comments and also comments about sanctity of life are not welcome in Political forum and are not political in nature. |
