Travel Discussion
So we are hoping to take a trip with our two little ones (both under the age of three) to the Bahamas or Caribbean...would Club Med be a good option? We'd like this to be a nice trip and---really not trying to sound snobby here---I sort of feel like maybe those types of places are cheesy? Or are there any other good bets?
If you have kids, go to one of the Family Club Meds. They are great for families with children. I've heard great things aobut the ones in the DR and Mexico. Plus, because they are French, the food is better than your average all-inclusive.
Yes! Yes, Yes! I lOVE Club Med, obviously. I've only been to the family ones, but it is a REAL vacation. And the kids had the best time too. There is tons to do for all ages. And the food is not to be believed. Punta Cana probably would be a good fit for you. It was renovated relatively recently.
We went to the Club Med on Guadeloupe. The beaches were gorgeous. Food was great. Smallish pool. Great activities for the kids, including Circus school. The only thing my then 8 year old disliked was that none of the other kids spoke English. At the All-Inclusives we have been to in Mexico there are always kids for him to hang out with.

My daughter had the greatest time when she was little at a Club Med in Florida. She got to 'join the circus' -- it was so much fun. My husband & I had the rare chance to relax without having to worry about whether our daughter was having fun. She met a lot of nice kids down there.
Some of the Hyatts now have great kids programs. Some other hotels do as well. |
