High School won't provide school based SAT

I'm looking for information on how this process works. I'm very confused by what I have encountered.

I registered my child for an upcoming SAT and the College Board decided my child's test should be school based based. I contacted my child's school with questions and the admin I spoke to said they were never informed that my child needed school based testing and that they were not going to provide it. They said I needed to find another location. I have spoken to the College Board and my child's school many times. The College Board is insistent that the test be school based. The school was informed my child needed school based testing and that there are a few other children who are supposed to be provided school based testing that date as well. Eventually the school admitted that they are in disagreement with College Board over College Board's new or changed policies regarding paying proctors.

To further complicate things, the accommodation that makes the test school based is not needed for the SAT. To try to help us, the College Board found a spot for my child in a center but without accommodations. They said if I show up early with the accommodations letter and other documentation, they might provide the accommodation.

Has anyone else experienced a school refusing to provide a school based SAT? What did you do? I'd also like any information on how the process of finding proctors works. Based on the info the school finally gave me, I think it wasn't worth it to them to provide the staff and proctor to test a small number of students. I understand if that is true, but at no point did the school contact us to let us know that they were not going to provide the test. The test is less than 2 weeks away.

I would email your county schools administrator that is the head of special education.

Loudoun Public schools is large enough to have to be able to do this easily, even if they consolidate it to a few HS. That is ridiculous. Go higher up the chain in the school system.

The problem that we encounter in Loudoun is that the school system is undermining special ed at every level. The special ed supervisor rarely even responds to parents. I doubt she would give this two seconds.

Can anyone explain how they go about getting proctors?

Is there a school board rep or some elected person you could contact?

Get an attorney who can start making phone calls---I bet they'll respond to that.
