I am using Safflower oil, with a bit of castor oil and rosehip seed oil. So far so good. Both oils are very inexpensive and remove all traces of make up. I used Clinique Take Off the Day balm. I think saw the ingredients were safflower or sunflower oil. Both have a non comedogenic rating of zero for clogging pores. The Clinique balm is $29 and I spent around $16 for all three oils, which will last at least 6 months.
Other thn rosehip seed oil, I am thinking of adding some others. |
Yes I've been doing since I was 16. I'm 45 now and my skin looks pretty good. |
Yes, i use the Clinique balm sometimes and other times a facial cleansing oil. Its always a big relief when my skin feels dry from heating and make up.

I don't wear makeup but my face gets very dry (including my nose which somehow is ALSO oily at the same time) and I use the Trader Joe's oil. Also very inexpensive. |
What oil do you use? How did you find out about it at 16? |
I’ve been using a Korean Rice Bright oil for three or four years. Best face wash I’ve ever used. My friends who noticed the difference in my skin switched too, and all love it. Particularly good for sensitive, mild rosacea prone skin. |
What kind of oil is it? |
I just tried a sample of the Dermalogica oil cleanser and I was very impressed. I didn’t need a make up remover. It just sort of dissolved everything and left my skin clean but not dry. I will definitely be looking into similar products. |
My dad's a chemist and one of his mantras is "like dissolves like" and I had nasty, greasy skin so I just put some olive oil in the kitchen on my face. In college I got facials and they explained it better and gave me access to better oils than olive oil, which can be comedogenic, like jojoba oil. I currently use a combination of jojoba, vitamin E, and rosehip oils. |
I am confused is this a face cleanser or make up remover? Please explain your routine of face care wash with soap then this? Leave on or take off? Thanks! |
I work cleansing oil into my face with my finger tips while giving myself a face massage. I use disposable cotton cloths (like flat cotton balls) damped with warm water to gently wipe off the oil/makeup/pollutants. While my face is still damp I use a cleanser to wash off the cleansing oil and other oils on my face. After that I either use toner to catch anything else leftover (not much if anything) and moisturize or simply moisturize if I'm being lazy |
+1 to this product |
Yes, I use castor, avocado and sweet almond oil. All non oil cleansers totally mess up my dry skin, except micellar water which I sometimes also use if too lazy to OCM. |
I use Burt's Bees facial cleansing oil. I have super dry skin especially in the winter but even the gentlest cleansers would leave my skin flaky. So I use the oil all year round now. |
