sick baby backup care?!

new mom here -- just wondering what others do when their kids are too sick to go to daycare day after day. our little guy has been sick about every other week since he started daycare in December. so far, we've been able to manage taking time off to care for him, but I dread the day when we run out of leave time and/or our employers' patience runs out. it's only February!!

See if you can find babysitters you like, relatives in the area? Any chance your work would let you bring your kid w/you for part of the day? My husband and I work pretty close to each other and will sometimes bring our son in with us (if he's too sick for day care but not sick enough to need to stay home for cuddles and bed) and swap him back and forth so we can get some work done. It's the major downside to day care -- there's no real backup.
