| There is usually a thread around this time of year about college acceptances for Wilson's graduating seniors. Did I miss it? |
|
You're early.
Commit day is 5/1. |
|
Well, college acceptances were mostly done before 4/1. Student commitments =/= acceptances
So I will start Harvard Yale Harvey Mudd Pitzer Pomona Scripps Princeton UCBerkeley Johns Hopkins Tulane UMichigan UWisconsin USC UNC-Chapel Hill Georgetown UCLA |

Wow. Do you work at school or do you know from dc and his/her friends? |
Or 2-3 outstanding students could have gotten these results. |
| Believe me, 2-3 outstanding students who got outside help from college counselors, either from non-profits or private college coaches. Wilson now has 1 college counselor for a junior class of 560 and 2 for a senior class of 540, which stinks. |
| More like a dozen exceptional students who got outside help. |
| Isn't that fully expected for a class of students over 500? |
kidschat I am not employed by the school, though some days I feel I am definitely working at being an engaged parent Thankfully this is my last child ever in high school |
yes, but when DCPS decides to cut funding, it hits counseling staff, and lab/art supplies :/ |
Yes, let us downplay the kids' achievements! |
i'm not the pp, but i would expect these kinds of results. lots of legacies from these universities @ Wilson |
|
LOL at all of you sad people trying to downplay the Wilson kids' achievements.
Why are you all acting as if it somehow reflects badly on you that lots of Wilson kids are smart and high achievers? |
| They always get into some good schools. The issue is when they feel out-matched by peers who have attended far more rigorous public and private schools. It is a rude awakening for many. |
