Infertility Support and Discussion

I'm going to be starting Clomid and Follistim next week in preparation for an IUI. I'll be doing a trigger shot as well. What size is considered a healthy uterine lining thickness? I understand that Clomid thins your lining so I wasn't sure what thickness I should be hoping for to allow for implantation (if everything goes well).
My RE did not prescribe Estrace, which I was told helps thicken your uterine lining. Should I ask for it? I've only been told to take Prometrium and baby asprin. TIA for your posts! |
| In my IVF cycle, my lining was about 16-17 when I triggered. I think that is pretty thick. I took Estrace and baby aspirin after my embryo transfer and did not take either during my IUI cycles (only Prometrium after the IUIs). Good luck! |

| It varies by clinic what they want to see, but if it is a little low they just give you estrace and get it thick during the 2ww. |
| I just went to my injection class today and the nurse went over everything for this type of IUI cycle. She said they don't prescribe estrace/estraidol as part of the initial meds because not everyone needs it, but they will prescribe it later in the cycle if the u/s shows you need it. So I'm sure they will be monitoring your lining to determine whether (and when) to have you start estrace. |
