| So how does the larger field affect play and players? What type of player has problem and what players make easy transition? |
You know that girls grow right? And the field isn't 11v11 so it isn't really big deal. |
| Isn't the field the same size and you go from 7v7 to 9v9? |
No the field size increase(not a full field yet but large vs u10). |
US Soccer has recommended field sizes and they are different from U10 to U11. However, most U10 games around here are played on a bigger field than recommended and is the same size field as U11. |
| Your kids will love it, the small fields are too crowded and we were always happy to move up to 3/4 fields. Now full field takes a good 6 months for kids to get used to, and it really changes who is good and who isn’t. |
How does the full field transition (U-12 to U-13) play out? Which types of players benefits and which have a more difficult time with the transition? |
Long ballers are fine. In kick-and-run clubs, the biggest/fastest benefit. Clubs that play true possession fare best because they use passing to cover the much larger distances. In true soccer places they still do 9v9 at U12/U13. |
