| What should I expect? Is it painful? Lots of bleeding, I know. |
|
I was really anxious about it (like ugly crying in the exam room). It was really NBD. About as uncomfortable as a Pap. It was really quick, and I don’t remember a ton of bleeding.
Mine was a Mirena. |
| For me insertion hurt like a b*tch, but I didn't feel the removal at all. |
| Same for me. My OB was surprised that they even asked me to put the robe on. Super easy and not really painful for me at all. Mirena as well. |
| This is PP - And, I didn't have any blood until my period. That's a dif story. |
| Mine was no problem coming out. A little pinchy but by no means awful. I got my period exactly on schedule (I always had a tiny bit of spotting with it). I had Mirena. |
Also my experience. Seriously, only felt the speculum. |
| Did not feel a thing. Got pregnant about 4 days later (planned)! |
| I've had three, all removals were a slight pinch, then totally fine. You may have withdrawal bleeding, but I didn't have any bleeding for six weeks after my last removal. |
| OP here reporting back. Didn't feel anything except the speculum! |
| Great! |
|
I had no pain or bleeding
Got pregnant 6 weeks later then when my first child was 6 months old (whoops) ... good luck! |
4 days! Good job you had that thing in! |

Insertion of my first hurt. Second time I remembered to take ibuprofen beforehand and felt nothing. Both times 8w PP.
Removal of my first IUD was painless and I only felt the speculum. The midwife showed it to me so I knew it was out. I was pregnant in less than a month. |
