Nigel Oakes, who heads SCL Group, told a media researcher last November that Trump deliberately demonised Muslims and stoked fears about ISIS to appease his base, as Hitler and his Nazi party targeted Jews to appease his.

Oakes told Emma Briant in recorded interviews, which were released by the UK Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee on Monday.

Nigel Oakes: And you rightly say, it's the things that resonate — some of those to attack the other group and know that you're going to lose them is going to reinforce and resonate your group.

Which is why, you know, Hitler — got to be very careful about saying so, must never probably say this, off the record — but of course Hitler attacked the Jews.

He didn't have a problem with the Jews at all, but the people didn't like the Jews. So if the people — he could just use them to say — so he just leveraged an artificial enemy.

Well, that's exactly what Trump did. He leveraged a Muslim — I mean, you know, it's — it was a real enemy.

ISIS is real, but how big a threat is ISIS really to America? Really, I mean, we are still talking about 9/11 — well, 9/11 is a long time ago. [...]

It is reprehensible that these people who understood what trump was doing also went ahead and helped him stoking the fear for corporate gain!

I so wish this were shocking to me. I know it should be, but I’m suffering from outrage fatigue.

What’s that called when one feigns outrage to look like one is disconnected from am issue?

None of what trump has done or is doing is normal. Lets us not have fatigue to normalize his outrageous behavior. Let us not stop to care.

Didn't Trump have a copy of Mein Kampf next to his bed? Most intelligent people realized that Trump was using Hitler's playbook.

Trump isn't book smart. He was raised this way.

There is a whole generation of people who lived in white suburbs who freaked out when racial covenants got struck down and minorities started moving into their communities. He's one of them.

I’m not fatigued to what trump is doing. I’m fatigued about his Cambridge Analytica pretending they have a problem with this.

What's shocking to me is the number of American Jews I personally know who fervently defend DJT. His tactics were crystal clear to ANYONE who has an honest knowledge of history and the rise of Nazism. How much did they feign outrage at the comparison? #gaslighting

All the more supported when his political consultancy CEO is making the same comparison.

Ah, yeah. Anyone who took more than Histiry and Political Science 101 knew this before the election. He threatened the press, his opponent and judges, and encouraged violence at his events...just to name a few warning signs.

No CA was not pretending that they have a problem with it. The CEO of SCL (parent company of CA) was explaining what trump did. I was upset that in spite of this realization CA still helped being trump's megaphone for profit. This is despicable. It is deplorable when you have the intelligence to understand trump's nefarious motive and yet be his tool so that you gain something from it!

He's an antisemite who tolerates Jews because (he thinks) they are enemies of Muslims and because he has to do business with them. When you tell a crowd of Jews "I'm a negotiator like you people", it's not a compliment!

I’m not too tired to care, but I also have to pace myself doing can keep caring.

Close - it wasn’t Mein Kampf, it was a compilation of Hitler’s speeches.

“Last April, perhaps in a surge of Czech nationalism, Ivana Trump told her lawyer Michael Kennedy that from time to time her husband reads a book of Hitler’s collected speeches, My New Order, which he keeps in a cabinet by his bed. Kennedy now guards a copy of My New Order in a closet at his office, as if it were a grenade. Hitler’s speeches, from his earliest days up through the Phony War of 1939, reveal his extraordinary ability as a master propagandist.

“Did your cousin John give you the Hitler speeches?” I asked Trump.

Trump hesitated. “Who told you that?”

“I don’t remember,” I said.

“Actually, it was my friend Marty Davis from Paramount who gave me a copy of Mein Kampf, and he’s a Jew.” (“I did give him a book about Hitler,” Marty Davis said. “But it was My New Order, Hitler’s speeches, not Mein Kampf. I thought he would find it interesting. I am his friend, but I’m not Jewish.”)

Later, Trump returned to this subject. “If I had these speeches, and I am not saying that I do, I would never read them.”

Is Ivana trying to convince her friends and lawyer that Trump is a crypto-Nazi? Trump is no reader or history buff. Perhaps his possession of Hitler’s speeches merely indicates an interest in Hitler’s genius at propaganda. The Führer often described his defeats at Stalingrad and in North Africa as great victories. Trump continues to endow his diminishing world with significance as well. “There’s nobody that has the cash flow that I have,” he told The Wall Street Journal long after he knew better. “I want to be king of cash.”
