Infertility Support and Discussion
| I'm getting ready to TTC and have gone off birth control. The first day of my last period was 34 days ago. No sign that I'm going to start soon. I know this is the first month off BC, but I'm definately not pregnant and I'm worried that something's wrong. Anyone else have a really long first cycle getting off the pill? TIA |

Not just my first cycle after I stopped the pill, but most of mine were between 30 and 35 days. and i successfully ended up getting pregnant.
best of luck! |

It takes a while for your body to regulate itself naturally. A great resource for understanding where you are in your cycle is Toni Weschler's book Taking Chart of Your Fertility. Through this you will learn how to chart your fertility signs (or become more aware of them).
Any time my body goes through a significnat change in hormones, it takes a while to get back to a 'regular' cycle. Changes in hormones include: Getting off the pill, miscarriage, birth, stopping breast feeding at night, fully weaning etc etc. |
| I regularly have cycles in between 33-36 days. That's my normal. |
My first cycle post going off pill was longer than they normally are. Just takes time for you body to get back into regular cycle.

| I have a couple of 35 day cycles a year...with majority falling between 30-33 days. I think that is within the realm of normal according to an OB/RE... |
| My cycles are regularly between 34 and 36 days. Definitely check out TCOYF - with cycles around 35 days long, you'll probably ovulate around day 17-19. If you assume ovulation at day 14, you'll be TTC on the wrong days. |
