| I absolutely loved seeing pictures of your tulips last year! I was wondering if you are giving out bulbs this year? I would love to do a section in my new garden. We just bought relatively recently and the yard needs a lot of work! |

Im here took these pics today of a few beds.
My flowers are coming in later this week and we will start removing tulips from the beds.

so when you pull a tulip out of the ground in the spring. you want to clean it off an store it in a cool dry space until mid-late fall and plant them at that time. The location is Georgetown University. the next few weeks before commencement we will be removing tulips and replanting with warm season annuals, and then after commencement we will be removing some more as well |

We moved into a home where tulips pop up each spring - the yellow and red fire looking ones. Last year there were 2 or three and now 5 in the same spot. I didn't know I should be pulling them out of the ground. Is it ok to leave them, too? |

Yes you can leave them in the ground. that how they grow bigger each year. the longer you leave the green leaves on the bigger the bulb gets.
Squirrels and other critters will dig and eat tulip bulbs which is why you may see a sporadic return on bulbs. but digging cleaning and storing tulips each year is a PITA |

| Wow very nice tulip beds! For a homeowner that's quite a task to dig up and replant them year after year. In a commercial setting though where they want year round flowers that sure is nice! |

which is why most homeowner just plant them and forget. and then occasionally add new ones as the old ones fail to come back we leave our daffodils in. Believe it or not, we do have a deer problem at G-town. and in a some places we've gone with daffodils to preserve some color and not have to worry about critters. |

that works great for small areas. what we do is till the entire bed to th epoint where the ground is soft enough to dig with your hands. and randomly spread the bulbs out over the entire area and get an even distribution and then plant.
