Overnight stop along the way from DC to Pittsburgh

Anonymous
I know the drive is not that far but because of an aging parent, we might want to stop along the way from DC to Pittsburgh... Do you all recommend a nice place to stop? We are also looking for the most scenic routes. What do you all think?

The most scenic is to head out towards Winchester VA and then up through Paw Paw WV, through Uniontown PA and past Nemacolin.

Good possible stop doing this route is Cumberland. You could even do Nemacolin or Uniontown....

Nemacolin!

Seven Springs, although it's closer to Pittsburgh than DC.

I just wanted to add because I’ve done this trip many time with elders and youngins. Many times we just take a long lunch stop at Bob Evans or the Gateway (restaurant probably open since renovations) in Breezewood. That’s usually enough to get everyone road ready for the second half.

Another vote for Nemacolin. Or just drive straight through - - it's not a particularly long drive to Pittsburgh.

Agree. I cannot imagine spending the night between here and Pittsburgh. It's less than five hours.

Op here, thanks for the responses. Like I said, I have an elderly parent who cannot sit in a car more than 2 hours at a time. So I think we will stop by Cumberland.
