Spotting in the first couple weeks?

I am SO disappointed. I really thought we were pregnant this time. I am 23dpo and seem to be getting some spotting today. Although, what is spotting and what is a real period? I hadn't done an hpt because I was too scared and nervous, but I figured at this point - with over 20 days of high BBT, I probably WAS pregnant. I was even nauseous this morning!

Is it normal to have spotting at this point? I am so so hoping that that's what it is.

Yes. Could be implantation spotting. I had it with both of my pregnancies. With the first it was like a very light period that only lasted a few days. (I took a preg test then and it was neg. Didn't know I was pg until a couple of weeks later when I got really nauseous.) With the second it was very brown, clearly old blood. With the second I spotted on and off until 12 weeks. Everything was fine and DD is now 19 months.
