If you child is sensory seeking what is the treatment? Do they grow out of it?

We are heading down this path and are meeting with Dr. Conlon this week. Thanks.

They don't outgrow it but it can be managed. Our oldest (6) and youngest (3) are sensory seekers. The oldest isn't so bad, but we really had to watch the youngest. He would hit and bite, particularly when he was excited. He just loves those proprioceptive feelings. We give him plenty of tactile sensory input and expect that as he gets older, we can teach him to better self regulate. We're doing that with our oldest using the How Does Your Engine Run program. Some people may think that it's only for helping maintain alertness but using the same techinques, we've been teaching our oldest how to be more aware of his inner self.
