| I am looking for some fashion blogs geared toward women in their 40s, with classic but up to date styles in a middle price range (like Anthro, JCrew, Nord/Bloomingdales, etc). Would love any recommendations! |
| I'm bumping this because I'd like to find the same. Any suggestions? |
| I like the Mom Edit. She's in Philly, and is currently covering the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. |
| Also interested. Thx! |
| Living with Landyn has cute style for women in their 40s. I think she's a bit crazy but great style. |
I like this blog less and less. It now feels like a permanent ad for Nordstrom and Loft. Also what is up with a 40-something woman who mainly wears “denim underwear” (her words) in the summer? |
| I fell out of love with the Mom edit too. It’s become less and less my style. I have started to like Cassie sugarplum and style your senses. |
| I love the mom edit and Shana! Her style is her own and she kills it. I am 34 and still can rock denim underwear though. |
| I also drifted away from the Mom Edit. I feel like they're trying too hard to be (dress) younger. I recently found See Anna Jane - I like the outfits she puts together. |
Same here, the Mom Edit lost me with ads for Bob Evans and Walmart. |
The issue isn’t whether one can rock denim underwear in their 40s (her age and what I would have guessed the target audience for the blog is), it is whether one should rock it (with butt cheek hanging out when) in one’s 40s. I stand on the no side of that question. |
Nordstrom and Loft are clearly big sponsors of her blog. The practically weekly post/ad for Loft is what lost me. At least when she highlights Nordstrom she can suggest different brands. Loft is one limited set of style of clothes and it is so opposite her aesthetic to dress in all Loft. If she added in Loft pieces from time to time I would love it, because Loft is affordable and works well with a “mom body.” But she spends too much time focusing on Loft in the posts. PS - The idea that someone who wears “denim underwear” also wears Loft clothing is vey funny. |

I still read a local blogger, Wardrobe Oxygen. She's cusp (between regular and plus sizes) so it does'nt always work, and some of her outfits are crazy, but I get enough from it that it works. However, she quit her job to blog full time so I can already see she's getting less relevant for a professional style.
I've recently started reading https://jolynneshane.com - she's 40s, but works from home and 90% of the time wears jeans. I had no idea there was so much to say about jeans. And sometimes she "styles" something differently by wearing flip flops instead of wedges. But I get some ideas for casual outfits from her. It is really hard to find blogs for professional style for 40s women, I totally agree. The good ones quit their professional jobs and blog full time and wear work out clothes all day long now. |
