Two Rivers Communications

Anonymous
After a quick call to the school yesterday with a question, I was under the impression that an email from TR to matched families was imminent. Did other parents receive an email?

Ummmmm. What did TR tell you about when you could expect to receive a communication? I am not trying to be mean here, but what exactly is the point of your post?

Np.

I imagine she's an anxious new mom; they probably said it would go out 'soon' and she's worried they got her email wrong or something because she's checked her email a dozen times and nothing has arrived.

But she doesn't want to call back and be a PITA.

It doesn't matter at this point. I'll wait until Monday. I was trying to avoid pestering the very nice front office staff unnecessarily. If we were the only family to not receive an email, then I would call. If other parents hadn't received emails, then I will wait

Since I called with a question about setting up a tour yesterday, they said they would include information about tours in the emails they were planning to send today, per their website. I'm trying to plan around work meetings, spouse's travel schedules, and other commitments - I was eager to get more information.

Not a TR parent, but just FYI - PARCC testing starts next week for all DC schools.

It's a really busy time for schools and administrators, and really not a great time for tours (less to see, need for quiet).

I'm sure most schools really want to accommodate prospective families too but it's a lot to juggle. Patience goes a long way!

Just received a welcome new student email from two rivers!

Not all schools are starting their testing next week. There's one general window which does start next week but not every school starts when the window opens. And if the school had a problem with scheduling tours during specific times I'm sure they wouldn't even suggest them as an option.

Just got our email 20 minutes ago.

Two weeks, but at our charter they don't start till the following week.

In our school it's a month!

The email didn’t say anything about tour dates, just enrollment dates. I got the impression from the website that the weekly schoolwide meetings might be open to the public so that might be a way to at least get a peek at the school. Do any current TR families know if that is the case?

Last year when we were accepted I emailed about a tour. They planned a tour for accepted families. They sent an email with the tour info.
