So; I donated all I could, I threw away everything I didn't need anymore. I sold most of my furniture on CL.
It hurt but I did it! I'm ready to move to my own place with one couch, a TV stand, a bookcase, 3 wire shelves, a rocking chair and a desk. The trick is: I need help to organize things around the house as I start to unpack. I have no idea what to do! What goes where? how do I make the house functional? Do you have anyone to recommend? Who does this kind of job? TIA |
| You need an organizer. Once you have systems it will be easier to maintain. Good luck! |

I've seem them in stores. There are so many I get overwhelmed! I don't know how to chose and how it works.
I'm frustrated because all I've tried so far didn't work. Any suggestions of real people who will sit down with me and explain how to organize a home? |
| Sorry, 23:17 here, I meant a person whose job is to work as an organizer. I think that there are several moms who do organizing work that post on the main list, Clutterbusters is one business name that I remember. I'd post on the DCUM list and ask for organizer recs in your specific area. Talk to a few on the phone and pick whoever is the best match. They can set you up with systems and you can even check in with them periodically afterwards as a check on backsliding. I have friends, unfortunately not in this area so I don't have recs, who have used such people very successfully. Good luck! |
| Oh that's such a nice suggestion! I'm sorry I misunderstood you! Thank you so much I'll do it right now! |
| Anyone else? Please... |
| I am not a professional, but a very organized person (to a fault sometimes, but that might be a plus in your case) and I would love to help. Let me know if that interest you at all. |
