I have seen many families looking for an alternative to traditional school. Check out a new micro-school opening in Annandale called The Village School:An Acton Academy. www.villageschoolnova.org It is part of a global network of micro-schools which can be described as "Montessori meets Silicon Valley".

It offers:
1) Self-paced Curriculum
2) Project Based Learning

Our boys are going there in the Fall and we couldn't be more excited!

They have less than 40 kids in K-8 and have only been open a year. I think you’ll have trouble finding reviews. The OP of this post was pretty clearly the founder.

They could even grade kids by using a stack ranking.
