luteal phase defect?

Anonymous
I'm TTC. Stopped breastfeeding three months ago. Since then, my luteal phase are short -- only 9 days. Pre-pregancy they were consistently 16 days. I've been TTC for three cycles. Should I go ahead and see my OB? Or go directly to an RE? Any thoughts are welcomed. Thanks.

I would see the OB, clomid can lengthen your LP. good luck.

Start taking 100-200 mg of B6 now and make an OB appointment. B6 doeesn't work for everyone but it moved me from 9 to 10-11 days quickly and to pregnancy quickly.

Acupuncture helped regulate my cycles after breastfeeding.

search the older LPD threads - there are one or two that are super helpful. Go right to an RE. I had LPD, and my solution with *both successful pregnancies* was Prometrium. I started daily suppositories 2x a day at 2 DPO, for about 10 days until BPT. If it was negative I just stopped taking them until the next cycle. When it was positive I stayed on Prometrium until week 10, when the placenta takes over. GL!
