Bancroft versus Stokes Brookland

Anonymous
We are currently happy at our IB school for Prek3 but as renters have flexibilty and a preference to move to a different space within a year or two. We will likely get a space at Stokes Brookland due to good lottery number or could wait a year and move inbounds for Bancroft for kindergarten.
Obviously different neighborhoods would be a consideration, commute, etc. but I'm looking for feedback on schools. I know people very happy at Bancroft but don't know anyone at Stokes and didn't attend any open house as I figured we wouldn't get a good lottery number. Thank you!

Stokes is great, but I'd choose moving IB for Bancroft for K.

Deal + Wilson > DCI

I know a family with two kids at Stokes. It's a good commute for them and Brookland is lovely--Turkey Thicket pool and playground, some nice restaurants, the gardens at the Franciscan Monastery...

Stokes is truly racially and economically diverse, which is really nice. The kid go on some awesome field trips (including international ones in later grades).

I bet Bancroft is good too and the Deal feeder is nothing to sneeze at. I'd go with the one that's a better commute or where you can have a home you prefer. Mt. P also seems closer to library and grocery stores than Brookland if that matters to you (and is a clear winner if you love going to the zoo), but neither is a bad option.
