orthodontists

I am reposting this from the General Parenting forum as I did not get a response there.

Do you feel good about your orthodontist's infection control? My son's orthodontist is very pleasant, good with kids, has an attractive office, but he and his staff never wash hands before gloving up, touch drawer handles, etc. with their gloved hands and then go back into my son's mouth without changing gloves (both no-nos according to CDC and other guidelines). I've talked to the dentist about it and he is always very pleasant, but nothing ever changes.

As a second question, has anyone ever changed orthodontists in the middle of braces.

We did change orthodontists in the middle of braces, and are very happy we did. We found out that the first one (who moved in the middle of my daughter's treatment) was using outdated technology. The new one, Dr. Larson in Old Town Alexandria, is wonderful.
