Extreme Lottery Luck

Have you ever gotten your number one choice? I don’t mean due to being inbound or sibling preference, I mean getting matched with your impossible #1 pick? Do you know someone who has managed this? Or even managed it a few times?

Yes, we got into our #1 choice for PK4. It does happen.

Yes, SWS for PreS3.

I know someone who got into both YY and LAMB a few years ago.

We got our number one pick for three years in a row.

If you got into your #1 pick in year 1, why did you lottery for year 2? If you got your #1 pick in year 2, why did you lottery for year 3? They must have been pretty bad #1 choices.

we got into LAMB and our No. 3 school (Breakthrough)

What kind of question is this? OP, do you think that every single desirable school is 100% siblings? I don't think that's the case with even one school (even Brent I think was not full of siblings this year - although I might be wrong).

Yes--we got our 1st choice for 5th grade (not BASIS or Latin but a HRCS).

Matched first choice this year for PreK 4 at Mundo Verde. No sibling preference. I've been on both ends of the spectrum. No match last year for Peabody, my inbound.

My DC was picked first for LAMB lottery years ago; for 6th got into Washington Latin via common lottery.

We're still playing Powerball though.

I played the lottery because my school is an commute from my house. The third time was just for fun.

Foolish because I am wondering if we should stay at our current HRCS
