We toured last week. The campus is built into a hill...and I’m not joking when I say that the tour was a workout. It doesn’t have that traditional campus feel, but more of an urban small town school, if that makes any sense. The presentation was nice, but they seem to think they’re an Ivy and our presenter was very uppity. They didn’t talk about the different academic programs, just about how special and hard to get into the school is. The kids looked like they were working hard in the classrooms we passed. There was a sorority holding an event on a grassy area, but there were maybe 10 people that showed up.
My ds liked it less than most of the other schools we’ve toured, and was honestly perplexed when it’s so hard to get into. I thought it was fine, just not spectacular.
To further the dislike, they sent a survey afterward, and in the demographics section, there was literally no option to indicate that you are Caucasian. All other ethnicities were listed, but here was no option to select white, Caucasian, or even “other.” Ds felt like they were trying to make a statement.
