Suspicious deaths.

Sounds like this couple didn't want people to find out what was happening in their home. I had come across stories of them on adoption boards. Very sad. It is eerily like the Turpins. A family who kept their kid isolated (homeschooling, rarely going outside, no external friends) and took them on trips (pictures for facebook). Seems the call to CPS led to them deciding death was a better option than being found out.

Yes, it was a 2-mom family that adopted 6 children. The story is so tragic. I hate to think that this was a planned suicide-murder, but my spidey sense is up. The lack of skid marks or evidence of braking as well as the reports of neglect are not to b ignored.

Op here. It seems pretty suspicious. They turned off a highway, drove 75 ft across a grassy pull out area and then over the cliff. According to the daily mail, they were going 90mph over the edge. Terrifying last moments for everyone involved. Hopefully they find the bodies of the other 3 kids who they think drifted away in the water.

Swept out to sea. Apparently only the two parents had seat belts on and were the only two found in the van.

Also odd that none of the 6 kids were wearing seat belts.

I'm from Oregon and this is all over the news here. The fact the speedometer was pinned at 90 Mph doesn't mean they made that 90 degree turn at 90 MPH. The wheels probably kept spinning after they left the pullout and may have gotten up to 90 by the time car hit the ground. It seems illogical they could have made that turn at 90...they didn't go off the end of the turn out straight ahead of them, they went off the side...so it would have been a 90 degree turn. No way could that car have sped up to 90 if they had pulled over for a break/lunch/enjoy the view and started toward the edge from a stop; If they had pulled over to enjoy the view or eat or whatever, it could explain why the kids weren't belted in. Also, just because wearing seatbelts is the law, doesn't mean teenagers will do it or that their parents will enforce it.

I don't know of any rational explanation for the car going over the side of the cliff aside from suicide/murder. I hope they are able to get answers as well as find the other three kids, but I think it's possible there are aspects of this case that always remain a mystery. If the three missing kids did get swept out to sea, it's just a matter of time before they, or some part of them, washes up on another beach.

OMG that is one of the most awful stories I can imagine. What breaks my heart is that lots of people knew something was wrong with this family - one of the moms pled guilty 7 years ago and the neighbors called CPS after the kids said they weren't being fed. This really seems like a tragedy that could have been avoided.

Odd video of one of their kids when much younger

This story has so many facets. LGBTQ, white women adopting black children, political activism, homeschooling, child abuse, possible outcomes of calling CPS/CPS actions, murder/suicide.

CPS stopped by three times in the days leading up to their deaths and were unable to make contact with them. People cared and tried to help.

Too little too late. There were other warnings prior to that.

SIX black children. Why adopt so many when you don't have a personality that handles the stress well? Beating and starving the kids!
