| Meeting another couple for an early dinner before a show. It’s a Thursday night if that matters. TIA. |
| How upscale? Marcel’s has a pre-theater menu. Also Kingbird at the Watergate is supposed to be good, though I haven’t been. |
|
District Commons on Washington Circle by the Foggy Bottom Metro or Rasika West if you’re willing to travel just a bit further. Rasika also has a pre-theatre menu.

Marcel's supposedly has a car service and pre-therater menu where you have the first two courses with them, the car takes you to the show and you return to the restaurant after in the car for dessert. |
| OP here. Sorry - I didn’t necessarily mean super fancy. I just meant good food in a non-kid atmosphere. (We all have plenty of that at home.) |
| Notti Bianche is not super fancy, but it's a kind of hidden little intimate little Italian place with good food walking distance to the Kennedy Center. |
| Founding Farmers? |
Is terrible. |
| Rasika West, Ris, Blue Duck, Westend Bistro. |
| The Oval Room, near the White House. Only a few minute drive further than Foggy Bottom. |
| Magic Gourd |
| I would just dine at the Terrace restaurant in the Kennedy Center. It's not going to knock your socks off but it's decent enough and the atmosphere is nice plus you don't have to park twice. |
Jeez not this place. |
| Founding Farmers |
| The cafeteria has nice food, wine. A carving station, nice pasta, that kind of thing. And you don’t have to worry about waiting on the check, which always stresses me out pre theater. |
