We went to one of DH's colleague's weddings yesterday. I don't even really know the woman and was boo-hooing when her mom, who was walking her down the aisle b/c her dad died last year, started crying as they were walking down the aisle. I felt a little silly, bc I never met the woman before. But you know, having been through my own wedding, seeing other people at their weddings brings back all the happy and solemn feelings that I had, and I'm so happy for them at this life-changing moment in their lives. I just remember feeling exhilarated, happy, scared, touched that all these people came from far away to witness, awed that my life was going to change. My husband calls me a sap. I think I am, but wanted to hear from others.
Do other people cry at weddings? |

For a while, I would cry even if I was watching the proposal or wedding shows on TLC. Yes, that's TV. No connection whatsoever.
But I guess as time has gone on and I've been married for longer (and jaded?) the sappiness has waned. |
| I do! But I'm also just a crier - I cry at weddings, tv commercials, when my friends say something sweet. But I've definitely been at weddings where I hardly know the people and gotten teary - there's just something about weddings. |

No, never.
And that's weird, because I'm an easy crier. |
| yes- I always tear up. And I really cried at my own! My family teases me all the time about it. |
Same here. |

The only wedding I've cried at was my sister's...
I didn't think about it leading up to the day...But watching my father walk her down the aisle and do the father/daughter dance nearly killed me. He's already outlived his doctor's initial thought and has a pretty bad stage of heart failure...I'm not even dating anyone with marriage potential (and never been married) so it hit me hard that he might not be there for mine. And I was in the wedding party so had to really try hard not to cry! Didn't want to mess up the makeup before the pictures since I had no way of touching it up. (Had it done at a salon...I never wear it on my own because my skin can't handle it so didn't have anything to touch up with.)

| Yes! It is really the only time I cry in public, drives me crazy. Sometimes it is appropriate, like my wedding, family or close friend's wedding, but I even cry at weddings of people I've never even met before. Ridiculous, but I can't help it. |
| No |
| Yes, which is silly, because we and most of our friends are in marriage counseling, so I know how hard marriage it . . . . |
| Every single time (tv included)! Been married 12 happy years. |
| I do, not only do I cry but each time I go to a wedding its sort of renews my faith in mine. I figure, it can't be that hard if people are still willing to do it. |

No. I often yawn though.
Now sappy movies, I bawl like a baby. |
| I cry at EVERYTHING. Literally. |
| Never cry at weddings, rather at funerals. Why? It's a happy time. |
