SAT, ACT, subject tests, and essay

We are new to this country. How many tests are expected to take? Son is super smart and tests supper well. May be Ivy material but a little lazy.
Question: SAT? SAT subjects tests when/which to take? SAT essay matters? Question: ACT too? Or SAT is enough. It is just too many tests!!!’n |
