They voted for Trump and loathed Obama. At one point one of them yelled at the TV when he was still in office saying he only got there because of Affirmative action. How do you deal with that?

That's fine but at what point does "cranky Fox News watcher" turn into "legitimate person to keep away from?" I'm asking this of all the "settle down you're the real bigot" folks. A lot depends on how thin skinned they are. My dad is conservative and can take some rubbing. My ILs not so much. |

| Minimize contact (all the way down to zero if your spouse is on board) and keep them away from your kids. I would cut my own parents out of my life without a second thought if they behaved like that. I don't need people like that in my life - they add no value. |
