No Pk3 on NW side?

thinking about moving but can only see pk4 there...

yup, that's the case - there's no room in those schools.

If you mean WOTP (not NW), you're correct, with the exception of Hyde-Addison (although they're currently in swing space).

No pre-K 3 there. Many there use private preschools.

The NW quadrant extends east of Rock Creek Park. There are PK3 schools there. And it's less snooty.

To clarify, there are schools with PK3 in NW DC (Wards 1, 2, 4), but not NW of Rock Creek Park (Ward 3).

You can alway lottery for PK3 elsewhere and then transfer.

That area is zoned for Murch and Hearst, so no PK3. The private nursery schools used by Murch families include St. Paul's, St. Columba's, Franklin Montessori, Auguste Montessori, Montessori of Chevy Chase, NCRC, Communikids, NPS, the church schools around Chevy Chase circle, etc. There are a lot of nursery schools in the area.

CommuniKids Preschool participates in the DC PreK Enhancement program and offers free PreK 3 snd 4 in Tenleytown. They are the only private preschool in Ward 3 in this program.
