I'm desperately looking for recommendations on day care for my soon-to-be 1 year old daughter.
We live in Bethesda near the beltway, and we strongly resent any kind of religion-based education. Suggestions, anyone? THANKS!!! |

PP, apparently you cannot read since the OP clearly said NO RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS.
OP, I would recommend looking into Georgetown Hill at NRC and have heard good things about Sugar Plums. My DS is two, and I know NRC has an opening in that group, but I don't know about the 1 year old class. |
I have my daughter at Christchurch Children's Center (c4childcare.org) and like the program. It has that community feel to it where you may run into the teachers out at the mall or another parent and everyone says hi to each other etc. As for religion - the school is currently in a church basement but not a religious program. The center will be moving in the Fall - staying in Bethesda. I don't know if there are spaces available . You would have to call to see. |
My understanding is that Christ Church does do some religious education. I toured a few years ago and asked just this question because we are in favor of religious education. I was told they do some Bible stories but if I am recalling correctly this begins at more of a preschool age - 3 year olds? |
Hi, OP here. Thanks for the replies.
Anyhow, since we're non-religious Jews, a Christian place is out of the question, so are religious Jewish places, even if they start with the religion education "at a later stage". We just don't want our daughter to be exposed to this kind of material in her early years. Thanks again for the recommendations, I am checking out NRC. |
