what does hu mean in texting

This is for a 9th grade girl. I've seen it in some texts and am wondering if it means hook-up? If so, is hooking up making out? much more than that? or does it vary.

Yes, it means hook-up. It varies as to what it means. To some, it means sex, but other times it just means making out.

new poster here - I will add that their frontal lobes don’t fully mature until their mid 20s, so they don’t stop needing guidance. 9th grade is still very young.

We don’t get to stop parenting just because our kids are in high school.

You are a moron. My kids know that they have no privacy on the iphones. They know that we can track all their texts and there is an app that tells us where they are. It is called parenting. We are open about it, if they don't like it they are free to return their iphones.

Thanks for the responses! I think it was hook-up. She got a text from a boy asking if she wanted to hu (I'm guessing in this context it is not an asian last name as mentioned by a previous poster). She answered that she just wanted to hang out someplace. She knows I read her texts. I think she deletes some so I don't know everything.
