I've been reclusive since I was 16.

I've had aquiantances but never really true friends. I do have a husband though. No kids.

Volunteer at the Smithsonians. Lots of nerdy people there to chat with. You have to find your niche. There is the reptilian section of the zoo, Amazonia, the natural history museum have people, and American history Spark lab the volunteers chat, but that is high volume if you are agoraphobic. I would probably look into the library of congress or Archives.

Really easy to make friends as a nerd... In my opinion..

Meet people who like board games, D&D, video games etc

Lots of men would like to have more nerdy female friends, but some might be attracted to you

Game meet ups, trivia nights, online groups for whatever nerdy stuff you are interested in-if the groups are big enough you can find some local people to meet up with.

Are you reclusive because you are intensely introverted or are you reclusive because you have untreated anxiety? Since you mentioned from age 16, I imagine it's the latter. Try an antidepressant.
