Escape Room for 13 YO Birthday?

| Has anyone done an escape room party for kids? My daughter is turning 13 and expressed interest in getting a few friends together to do this along with lunch or dinner out. Room Escape Fairfax is the closest one to us - has anyone been there (or to another location) who can share their experience? Is it age appropriate for 13? |

| We did Escape Room Georgetown for my sons' 12th birthday. It was fun, but they did not escape the room in time. There are definite tricks and things to look for - I think if we did it again, we would have a better idea of how to escape in time. But they had fun. Most of the places give a level of difficulty, so I would definitely go for one of the easier ones for the first time. |

| My DD went to a 10 year old birthday party at Escape Room in Rockville, she loved it! They did the easiest one and the dad went in with the kids and said he gave some gentle prompts, and they did escape in time. Escape Room definitely has some age-appropriate options. Have fun! |

| definitely do the easier ones and maybe go with them and get them to ask LOTS of questions to the game master. it is pretty difficult to win. BUT super fun for kids. Georgetown Escape room is nice |

| We did the Escape Room in Old Town Alexandria for my daughter's 13th. She gets creeped out easily, and we asked them for the least creepy room, and to not turn on the creepy music they play. My husband and I stayed in the room with the kids and give them an occassional hint. They didn't solve it in time, but still had a good time. I'd recommend it. |

| My 13 year old recently did one and had a blast but also did not solve it in time. If this was for a birthday party, I'd actually do it in advance, that way you could move things along if the group gets really stuck. I'm not opposed to the the birthday group not escaping the room but it isn't much fun if you are stuck for a long time on one problem. |

We rented the Escape room bus in Fairfax for my sons 12 year old birthday. If you have at least 8 kids it will come to your house.
We then had pizza and cake. It was fantastic! |
