| It’s one of the more far out names on my list . Is it too out there? |
| I like the sound of it but not the spelling, no one will ever know how to spell his name. Having said that, its a middle name and I tend to think middle names are fair game for anything. |
Plenty of people will know how to spell his name, starting (but certainly not ending) with fans of Steely Dan. |
|
Agree about the spelling. Go with Bode.
Steely Dan? No idea. I’m guessing more people might know who Bode Miller is. |
Usually DCUM is hell on "kre8tive" "yoonique" spellings. The standard spelling in English is Bodhi. It's Sanskrit. |
All of this. |
| Big Point Break fan? It’s just a middle name, go for it. |
| Are you indian? Then, no. |
What's the first name? |
|
1. I think it's fine for a middle name, but if I heard it I would assume you are Buddhist
2. You PPs are very ignorant of world religions. You should pick up a book about Buddhism. Doesn't everyone get into it as a teenager? |
Is OP Indian? If so, then go with the traditional spelling. Otherwise I’d go with Bode |
| Where did you hear name? It’s challenging if not from your culture or devotional practice. I like it but you need to understand the name and be comfortable with it being considered appropriative. If it really resonates use it if it’s trying to find a unique US name please think deeply as to why it appeals to you. |
| It doesn't matter. Its a middle name. It wont be used very often. |
| I love it. Use the traditional spelling. If I saw "Bode" I'd want to pronounce it with a long O sound and no "ee" sound at the end. Like "that doesn't BODE well." |
| Love it! And another vote for the traditional spelling. |
