| Wow that’s a lot of travel....why can’t we all just play each other locally....money grab....the problem with US Soccer is all the kids are riding in cars all day and not playing pickup soccer.... |
| Not a good move at all. Herndon has great teams. They won't get good competition in CCL. |
We are on a CCL club and find it to be very competitive vs when we play friendlies or tournaments the competition is below that. The other leagues are watered down now. When Arlington has 2-3 teams per age group, Rush has 3-5 teams in each age group, Bethesda has 3, Potomac has 3, OBGS has 2-3 , Mclean has 2-3 It all gets watered down. |
Are you talking about girls or boys? Might be true for girls (I don’t know enough about girls’ teams), definitely disagree for boys. For example, Herndon is not quite up to Loudoun’s level, but some Loudoun teams are mid-tier in CCL. |
The Top teams in CCL generally have consistently strong competition. However, if you are a strong 2nd or 3rd team in CCL/CCL2, the competition decreases substantially. |
Really? We always found the opposite. MD and Penn and NY teams could kick our ass---as well as some small independent NCSL teams. |
Many of those NY, Pa & NJ teams are not single teams but players from others teams that get together. I was really surprised when I heard that because I thought they would have the same issue we do here but many of the teams are from areas not as populated as our area so they pull the better players together. Not sure how they get around the guest player rules at some of the tournaments but I am sure there is a waiver process. bottom line is there is not enough talent around here to have powerful teams when the clubs are all doing the money grab. |
