Staying in Atlantis help

Anonymous
Does anyone have opinions in resorts in Atlantis?

We are looking at the Reef, It is more expensive than a couple of the others but has a kitchenette so were thinking we may save money on not eating out 3x a day.
WE have never been to the Bahamas so any info is appreicated.

I mean this sincerely and not snarkily, but I would pick somewhere else. Have you read trip advisor reviews? I really wanted to want to go there.

OP here, we read some reviews but may have not been trip advisor. Most of the reviews were good.

What exactly are you looking for? Do you have kids?

Where are you planning to get this food you will have in the kitchen?

Are you kids old enough for the water parks?

Do you care that you will be on the far end of the resort?

I personally think that the Cove or Royal are better locations.

I too thought Atlantis might be a cool getaway. This was eye-opening though...

Exactly. DCUM is the only place I have ever read good things about Atlantis.

I have to say, I laughed at that review. DH and I and our kids have gone to Atlantis before with pretty much the EXACT same offers. 4 free nights at the Beach Tower. And we've gone and had a good time.

BUT - we researched before we went. We stopped at a grocery store and bought non perishables for our room. We NEVER ate on property for dinner. We booked all our own excursions (which we do pretty much anywhere we go). And you know what, my kids LOVED it and it was a fun time.

I think the point is, its too expensive to be that mediocre and require so many work-arounds. Plenty of good options elsewhere.

Why on earth would anyone listen to a woman who wears a suede hat on the beach...and has a husband with an obvious gambling problem?

But thanks for posting...I think her train wreck of a blog looks hilarious!

I don't think there are that many other places with its own water park? That's the draw of the place.

For my money, I’d rather do a couple of days at Typhoon Lagoon, then drive to Anna Maria or St. Pete Beach for the rest of vacation. But that’s just me.
