I prefer Pure Barre because their music is more upbeat & I feel the burn in my abs more during core work with the ball than the complicated mats Bar Method uses. Most Bar Method classes i've taken have elevator music.
Barre3 is a hit or a miss depending on the instructor/location. The classes use smaller movements then recover with bigger movements. If the instructor lacks energy the class will drag because it's more cardio based. I am a member of Barre3 Bethesda and that location & instructors are high-energy and fabulous! The same owner owns Barre3 Alexandria, which I'm sure is fabulous and I've heard Barre3 14th street is amazing too with their instructors!
You will also get the most bang for your buck with Barre3. Currently Barre3 Bethesda is offering unlimited classes for a lifetime for only $129 with no contract. Pure Barre and Bar Method locations are anywhere from $170-$200 per month with a contract, which can get super price if you want to do other types of workouts as well!
I am a bare addict and completely agree with this poster. Pure barre and barre method are not identical in the least. Pure barre is very fast paced and has a bit more cardio while bar method is more slow and controlled. They are both great workouts, don’t get me wrong, but they are different.
I prefer pure barre out of all three studios. It gives me a great workout that works every muscle in my body with a bit of cardio thrown in. I see great results. Bar method was fine but lacked the intensity of pure barre classes. I did like the move class however. Barre3 was my least favorite. I feel that I did not get as good of a workout.
