| Something tweens and parents can listen together in the car? |
|
For tweens they would probably be interested in the same ones you are but here's a curated list:

I really like
Stuff you should know Hidden brain Ted Ed |
| Thanks! |

If they are techy, some of the Reply All episodes could be good.
Some of the Ted Talks. Some of the Lore episodes. Stuff You Missed in History Class. |
| Try the This American Life episodes that don't focus on politics or other "grownup" issues. I think they'd especially get a kick out of the one called "Kid Logic." "Notes from Camp" is great especially if they go to sleep-away camp. |
| My 10 year old enjoys listening to my Planet Money and How I Built This podcasts. Pickle only has a few episodes but they were good for this age. |
| I keep wanting to share Freakenomics with my kids. Fascinating social economics stuff. |
| Tweens are old enough for current events. Try Pod save America. |

I pretty much always have a podcast on when I'm driving with 14 yr old DS. He likes...
Freakonomics Hidden Brain Overdue (two young guys talking about books, some are adult books but they also do a lot of kids/YA books) It's Been a Minute - the Friday episode is a good overview/discussion of the week's events, conversational tone, and always ends on an up beat because they play clips from listeners who called in to say the best thing that happened to them that week. Pop Culture Happy Hour Planet Money, and the new Planet Money Indicator -- this one is short so good for short drives if your kid finds it hard to listen to a longer podcast over short listening sessions. I listen to a ton of podcasts so when we finish something I"ll let him pick from what I have downloaded. I'm often surprised at what interests him -- he wanted to listen to a Freakonomics series about CEOs (we're on ep. 4 right now). Other times, if I've listened to something that I think would be good for him to hear I set it to "just happen" to be on that when we get in the car (e.g. when he was having a hard time with a decision, I heard a Hidden Brain segment about research that addressed exactly what he was dealing with). |

This is a favorite among all age groups and interests. |
| TED radio hour. We listen while walking the dog or in the car on road trips. Shorter than books so you get a break |
| Unexplainable Disappearance of Mars Patel |
