I have 1 with an IEP and 1 who had one in the past. The IEP includes pull-out or push-in for a specific number of hours per week. The push-in isn’t always 1-1 so the pull-out was my preference for my LD son (former IEP) but the schools try to minimize pull-out. In addition, I wouldn’t really call that time “tutoring”. They could never provide the name of a specific evidence based intervention. We did lots on our own. My current child with an IEP doesn’t even get pull-out. They do push-in which basically just means the resource teacher is in the classroom and may be helping him or helping him as pat of working with a small group. He doesn’t have an LD but another issue that affects writing. We will likely add in a private tutor in the near future.
