My 2.5 y/o boy twins eat anything and everything. They want to eat all the time. They had breakfast @ 9am, 2 multigrain pancakes each, 1 turkey sausage each, melon, and a whole grain cereal bar oh, plus some cheerios and downed it with a cup of milk. They are now eating craisins, an hour later. Lunch will be at 12:30 and will be a huge meal. After nap, they will have some raisins and dry cheerios. Dinner is another large meal. Then before bedtime, they want a snack.
Does anyone else's child eat like this? They will eat half a cantaloupe at breakfast between the two of them. I'm just astonished by the amount of food! I'm dying to hear what others have to say about the amount of food their kids eat! Thanks! |

My cousin's child is like this. She's 17mo but looks like the size of a 2+ year old - height too though, it's not that she's fat. For breakfast, she can eat an entire banana, an entire container of yogurt and then a bowl of cereal and piece of toast, along with her milk. Then two hours later she'll want a snack and can eat a few scrambled eggs. It's more than I can eat myself.

| My son will be 3 in June and he eats like this, too, sometimes. It seems to go in spurts for a few days and then he is back to normal. It shocks me that he can fit so much in his stomach and sometimes I worry that he will get so full, he will throw up! I always figure he is going through a growth spurt. He is tall for his age, but is on the leaner side. |

I'm jealous.
My 2yr old son is a picky eater and does not eat much, its a daily struggle. I would not be worried, except that he's pretty skinny and will not eat meat and has low iron. You're lucky. |

Op here-One is short and so skinny. I honestly do not know how he eats as much as he does and is THAT skinny.
The other has a bit of a pooch but nothing to be concerned about. My six year old did not eat like this at this age. They have always been really good eaters. But for the last two months it has been just overwhelming!!! |
| My children are both small for their age (due to genetics) and both can eat a ton if they want to. Even the picky one can eat a lot of things they like. |

My daughter (almost 3) is like this not not all the time. There are days when she barely eats and then there and the days (like this weekend) when she eats non-stop. She is very tall (40 inches) and very skinny (less than 30 lbs at 2.5 checkup). She is also very active. I have come to the conclusion that there a periods when she just has a high metabolic rate and just let her take the lead in eating (I provide healthy choices), until she starts gaining a lot of weight, I just plan to let her eat as much as she wants.

| DS has been like this since about 11 months - now at alomost 17 mon he will eat the same portion I eat if not more sometimes. In addition, anytime he sees food or drink he wants to try some. I was worried at first especially with all the snacking but Peds said not to worry too much - while large he is well proportioned and very energetic. The only advice was to focus on healthy eating. |

OP here, They eat everything. I have yet to find a vegetable, fruit, cheese, etc they will not eat. I put kiwi on their plates last night and they ate it along with 2 servings of broccoli. They love Brie and bread.
The funniest part is they aren't sweet eaters. I made cupcakes for V-day and they wouldn't touch it. They will ask for ice cream at the mall but thats it. I don't always say yes to it. Since we are there so much. I wasn't worried. I am just so surprised by the large amounts that have been consistent for the last couple of months. I thought it was just a growth spurt, but guess it is here to stay! |
