Tell me about getting into a charter in Kindergarten. I know there are a lot less spots, but theoretically, also a lot less people applying

Actually there are tons of spots -- for example, mundo Verde increases third class size and has to fill 45 spots, and they typically go into the waitlist another 30. Inspired teaching also increases their class size. Besides not competing with siblings, some kids who live IB for very good DCPS schools (so good that many IB kids don't get in for prek4) attend charters for prek but then go back 'home' to DCPS for the rest of school starting in K, when they have the right to attend.

It's a great year to get it. look at the data.

This is good to hear. We struck out two years in a row and thought the chances decrease as we continue in the lottery.
