Camp for my animal loving kid 3rd grade

Anonymous
My kid loves animals, seeing them, touching them, feeding and general care. Is there an all day camp local to DC that offers something along this line? Thanks

Burgundy farm in Alexandria has animals but my kids rarely saw them. That was years ago. Might be worth inquiring.

Not sure if Fairfax County is too far out for you, but several of the county rec centers have summer camps for things "junior wildlife ranger" or "animal caretaker", where the campers basically follow the park rangers around caring for the animals. Go to the Parktakes website and search for any nature themed camps at parks that are close enough for you.

The dates work for us, it also involves two overnights at the end. Will look into this further.

We have done camp in Fairfax before, logistically it was not ideal but we made it work, will look into this. Thanks
