I don’t think anyone can be overly confident even with high scores. Whether it’s true or not, I’ve seen on this board some people posted about their unexpected results of acceptance/denial. Very much guessing game at this point

Why does this matter? I mean you know what generally gets accepted and what generally lands a kid on the bubble and what generally wouldn't be good enough for acceptance. Do you need to really ask this?

If half the energy put into this board was put into gun control, helping everyone access decent health care and getting a clean environment, we'd solve some real problems.

Hopeful too, I also want to ask other moms how they feel about their packets because I don’t really get any input or feedback from teachers and no one in my circle is into AAP. If DC wasn’t in pool, I wouldn’t even care about AAP. I am also curious how much surprise we’re talking about.
Significant numbers of kids accepted or denied out of the ordinary?

OP just wants to feel better about his/her kid's chances of getting in first round. The waiting game with no real idea or control of the outcome can be very anxiety inducing for some, myself included.

I feel anxious too. I will be okay even if DC doesn't make it but I just want to know the result and move on.

But by asking others why they feel confident about their kids' files won't help her feel more confident.

I would be shocked if she did. Didn’t know that we might be handicapped a bit because of coming into this from private school.

If mine isn't accepted first round, the entire process is a farce. 99th percentile (in-pool by decent margin) CogAT, 99th percentile WISC, above grade level in all subjects on all metrics, good grades, etc.
