Blair STEM academy

Anonymous
Blair is our home school. Considering what is happening with the application process for magnets for the middle school magnets, I wanted to realistic about future opportunities for my child who is STEM-oriented (loves science/good at math/not interested in CS) and would be applying to high school programs in 2 years. Are there any parents out there that have kids that attended Blair as a non-magnet student and chose the STEM Academy? It seems like students with the pre-reqs to take some of the magnet electives are able to do so in their junior/senior year. The STEM academy webpage list tracks by strand (area) and also suggests that kids complete a capstone project (research) or an internship. Is that the case?
