ambitious is fine to want. only being attracted to rich makes you materialistic. what do you have to offer in return? adjust your expectations accordingly.

Or what about just interesting? This is who I married. Someone who will never bore me. He has PhD, and MD, and is not wealthy, since he chooses to do public research. I like that side of him!
