Expectant and Postpartum Moms

Hi All,
This is a bit off topic because it's about my husband, but I feel like it counts since I'm 18 weeks pregnant AND he broke the mess out of his arm. I was finally getting better and he had his first day off in three weeks so we went out on a bike ride. He wrecked and suffered a severe compound fracture in his arm (which was sticking out!). I of course am freaking out because I have been needing his help so much and he's out for the count. But now they are saying he needs surgery in his arm, which is fine, but I am nervous about using the surgeon the ER sent us to at GW - a Dr. Labropoulos. I was hoping that someone here had a great orthopedic surgeon to recommend. I'm just so worried about him! Thank you anyone for your help. |
Stanley Rothschild in NW DC. He's in the Foxhall building accross from AU. He is the best.
Thank you so much!
I had surgery on my thumb with Jeffrey Lovallo in Crystal City, and was very happy with the surgery and his office. He is an orthopedic hand surgeon.
I second Stanley Rothschild. He sees my entire family - he's a good mix of excellent diagnostician and conservative practitioner. No-one has had surgery (knock on wood) but I've heard very good things about his skills there too.
Denis Harris in DC (new Mexico Ave, NW). He's done my Dad's hip replacement and carpal tunnel surgeries, and set my husband's wrist/arm a few years back. Walking around one day, a woman started chatting with us and asked who his doc was. When we told her, she said she was an orthopedic nurse and Dr. Harris was the best in town. We love him.
Definitely, definitely see Dr. Rothschild. I'm recovering from a severe ankle fracture (broke tib/fib and talus in multiple places) and he is my doctor. I have seen him for a couple of other minor ortho issues over the last several years but this was a major injury and he has been wonderful. (I fell down the stairs when DD was five months and she is now ten months and I am just now getting back to normal--I don't recommend it!!). Good luck to you and DH.
