I checked with my flexible spending account (FSAFEDS) and it says that it may be a covered cost if the doula is a "licensed health care practitioner who renders medical care…”
Is a doula a 'licensed health care practitioner?" is a childbirth educator a licensed health care practitioner? I would assume so, but who knows. I guess I'll have to ask specific doulas, but if anyone has feedback, that would be helpful. thanks. |
| Yes, mine does. I've also heard from my doula that, starting in October, doulas can receive official provider number codes to bill insurance companies (which should mean that most/all insurance companies will start reimbursing doula services). |
