All inclusive with a family of 5?

Anonymous
Has anyone with three kids done a nice all inclusive vacation? I can’t find one where we can get a big enough room, which means we need 2 rooms and need to pay for 4 adults, which just seems silly.
Any suggestions are appreciated!

Franklyn D Resort in Jamaica. All rooms also come with a vacation nanny for each family. Also most rooms are 2 bedroom suites that are perfect for a family.

Was just going to recommend FDR. Some families even pay for a 2nd nanny. I have been twice, it is very nice. Not 5 star but small and nice and very family friendly.

How about for families with older kids? Mine are 12, 14, 16. Traveling as a family of five is difficult for the reasons OP stated. Especially all inclusives.

Yeah, we don’t really need a nanny. Kids or teen club would be nice.

OP, I’m following. I’ve wanted to do an AI with my kids. But we don’t eat a ton or drink much alcohol, so when I’ve crunched the numbers we’ve always been better off staying at a nice resort and paying seperately for food and drink.

The AI prices assume you will eat and drink a ton. And use the kids clubs a lot. You pay for all of that whether you use it or not.

Well, this is exactly why we have NOT returned to Beaches Turks & Caicos since having kiddo #3.

Club Med Putna Cana used to have Family suites that slept 5. 2 bathrooms. It was a separate area of the resort.

Bahia Principe in Punta Cana has family adjoining rooms at the Turquesa resort. You don't pay for more adults that you have and the price per kid goes down based on the age of the child.

I think Club Med Sandpiper Bay (?) has rooms/suites for 5. I looked into it and it would've been really expensive for us since we we wouldn't use the kids' clubs or most activities. But the bed situation seemed OK.

My friend went to an all inclusive place in Jamaica that was a 2 bedroom suite with a king bed and a room with two double beds. She got it through Costco vacations-check their website for the name.
