Jabberu v. Lango

Has anyone done either of these language classes? Is it worth it for an almost 3 y.o. and a 15 month old? Just curious if people have been pleased. We don't speak any languages very well other than English and our nanny speaks only English and a filipino language so it won't be reinforced at home without us making a big effort somehow. I'm still kind of intrigued at the idea but curious if it's worth the cost. Thanks for any feedback.

never heard of Lango but I have a few friends at Jabberu taking French (not a language used at home for this group of friends) and they are all 2 and seem to enjoy it.

Denise Holmes from Lango Montgomery County here.

Lango is new to the DC area this fall, but has taught Spanish, french and Mandarin to thousands of students already elsewhere in the country.

Please come sit in on a Lango MoCo class for free - just call first to confirm. Our local MD and VA schedules can be found here:

Gracias! Merci! Xie xie!

The Lango program is terrific. Our 8 yr old was dead set against having to go to school on a Saturday until she attended the free sample class and was immediately hooked. She can't wait to begin the program officially, starting this weekend. We have enrolled her in the Mandarin class for elementary age kids but there is also one for preschoolers. Teachers are young native or bilingual speakers and the whole immersion class is learning thru play - lots of songs and toys and games. It also is an ideal length of time - not too long so it isn't overwhelming, which is esply important for Chinese bc it's quite difficult. They also offer Spanish and French.

Other plusses are the location - downtown Silver Spring in the Round House Ed Ctr, which is a short walk from Metro -- and CakeLove where they have free samples of their cupcakes to die for...

Hi - this is Shelley with Jabberu. It's great that you're exploring language opportunities for your kids - that's a great gift that they'll continue to benefit from throughout life.

We're hosting an International Days Open House at our Bethesda center, this Saturday, September 26 from 3:30 - 5:00 - give us a call to RSVP and be entered into a drawing for tuition discounts. 1-888-951-1119. This is a great chance to see our center, meet our teachers and experience our approach to language learning.

And you can always schedule a free trial class!

We are proud to have been selected for the second year in a row by readers of Family Magazine as "Best Foreign Language Learning for Kids"!
